Abstract

Kajian teoritis ini menganalisis peran komunikasi sebagai instrumen aktif dan konstitutif dalam pembentukan struktur dan budaya organisasi. Berdasarkan perspektif teoritis organisasi klasik hingga interpretatif, penelitian ini berargumen bahwa komunikasi tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai saluran penyampai pesan, tetapi merupakan proses inti yang secara dialektis membentuk sekaligus mereproduksi realitas organisasi. Dalam konteks struktur organisasi, komunikasi berperan sebagai mekanisme koordinasi, kontrol, dan pengambilan keputusan yang menghidupkan kerangka formal. Pola komunikasi (baik formal maupun informal) secara aktual menentukan efisiensi hierarki, keluwesan jaringan kerja, dan distribusi kekuasaan, sehingga menciptakan struktur operasional di lapangan. Sementara dalam pembentukan budaya organisasi, komunikasi berfungsi sebagai medium penciptaan makna, penyebaran nilai-nilai, serta sosialisasi norma. Melalui narasi, simbol, dan ritual yang dikomunikasikan, identitas kolektif dibangun dan dipertahankan, sekaligus menjadi sarana potensial untuk perubahan budaya. Hubungan ketiganya bersifat dialektis: struktur membentuk pola komunikasi, pola komunikasi membangun dan memperkuat budaya, dan budaya yang terbentuk kemudian melegitimasi atau menantang struktur yang ada. Implikasinya, pemahaman holistik terhadap organisasi harus menempatkan manajemen komunikasi strategis sebagai elemen fundamental, bukan sekadar fungsi pendukung, untuk mencapai efektivitas dan adaptabilitas organisasi.
