Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) yang mengintegrasikan unsur seni dalam pembelajaran IPA di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap proses belajar siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus di MI Nihayaturroghibin Kayen Pati. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah dan guru kelas V, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi STEAM dilakukan melalui model Project Based Learning dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan proyek pembuatan diorama siklus air, dan evaluasi reflektif. Unsur seni terintegrasi secara nyata dalam aktivitas kreatif seperti mendesain, memotong, menempel, dan menyusun elemen visual, yang tidak hanya memperkuat pemahaman konsep sains tetapi juga meningkatkan motivasi, kreativitas, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kolaborasi siswa. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar, kreativitas siswa dalam merancang proyek, kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta kerja sama dalam kelompok. Temuan ini mengonfirmasi bahwa integrasi seni dalam STEAM berkontribusi signifikan terhadap terciptanya pembelajaran yang interaktif, kontekstual, dan bermakna. Penelitian ini memperkaya kajian tentang peran seni dalam pendidikan STEAM di tingkat dasar serta memberikan implikasi praktis bagi pengembangan kurikulum dan praktik pembelajaran di MI/SD.
