Abstract

Literature is a manifestation of human expression delivered through written and spoken form, which is based on opinions, thoughts, life experiences, and personal emotions. This research aims to find out the social issues contained in the poem “apa yang berharga dari Puisiku” by Wiji Thukul. The data used is in the form of stanzas from the poem “apa yang berharga dari Puisiku” by Wiji Thukul. The data source used is the book of Wiji Thukul's poetry collection entitled “Aku Ingin Jadi Peluru”.The collection technique used by the researcher is note-taking technique. The data analysis technique used is an interactive technique that is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The theory used is Alan Swingewood's Sociology of Literature Theory as the basis of research. This research found that the poem “What is valuable about Puisiku” by Wiji Thukul contains meaning or social issues in it. These aspects are economic injustice and social conflict. This poem does not only describe the process of socialization and role allocation in a particular social structure. This poem actively challenges the inequality and injustice embedded in that structure, revealing the social conditions that perpetuate poverty
