Pengolahan kelapa muda secara manual di masyarakat pedesaan masih padat karya, tidak efisien, dan berbahaya, sehingga membatasi produktivitas dan potensi ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas Mesin Pembelah Kelapa Muda Otomatis dalam meningkatkan efisiensi, keamanan, dan kualitas produk di Desa Gandusari, Indonesia. Dengan mengatasi tantangan metode tradisional, penelitian ini menyelidiki apakah teknologi yang tepat dan dirancang secara ergonomis dapat meningkatkan kinerja kegiatan agroindustri skala mikro.
Studi ini menggunakan desain metode campuran partisipatif, yang memadukan pengukuran pra dan pascaintervensi di seluruh indikator kinerja utama. Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan mengenai waktu pemrosesan, hasil produksi, kualitas produk, dan kelelahan pengguna, sementara wawasan kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, survei kepuasan, dan catatan lapangan observasional.
Hasilnya menunjukkan pengurangan waktu pemrosesan sebesar 55,2%, dengan hasil hampir dua kali lipat dari 55–65 menjadi 110–130 kelapa per jam. Kelelahan pengguna menurun secara signifikan, dengan rata-rata Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion turun dari 7,1 menjadi 3,8. Kualitas produk meningkat, dengan 83% hasil dinilai sebagai "sangat baik," yang mencerminkan peningkatan presisi dan kebersihan pemotongan. Kepuasan pengguna sangat tinggi (skor rata-rata 4,78/5), yang menunjukkan penerimaan luas terhadap teknologi tersebut. Peserta juga melaporkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan menyatakan aspirasi untuk ekspansi bisnis. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa mengintegrasikan desain partisipatif dengan teknologi ergonomis dapat menghasilkan peningkatan substansial dalam efisiensi agro-processing pedesaan dan kesejahteraan pekerja.
Sebagai kesimpulan, studi ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi yang tepat, jika dikembangkan bersama dengan pengguna akhir, dapat mengatasi tantangan operasional yang kritis dalam konteks agroindustri pedesaan. Intervensi tersebut tidak hanya meningkatkan produktivitas dan keselamatan, tetapi juga mendorong pemberdayaan pengguna dan kesiapan pasar. Hasil ini menawarkan implikasi yang berharga untuk meningkatkan skala teknologi serupa di lingkungan pedesaan lainnya, yang berkontribusi pada pembangunan pertanian berkelanjutan dan ketahanan ekonomi lokal.
